Gétaz Romang implements Allegro for its training management

"Much lesser paper work for the management of registrations in our group's training courses. That's really great!"

"What we want for this year Â…much more consultancies and even registrations with Allegro. To attain this goal, we will, as a new step, promote several courses with the help of the Intranet and a direct link to Allegro!"

Gétaz Romang distributes 5 major product families (materials, wood, bathrooms, tiles, and kitchens) in Switzerland. It employs around 1.500 people in 40 branches spread across the Swiss territory.

The whole employee training process at Gétaz Romang (registration, ratification, information, history) used to be managed exclusively through paper work.

A yearly catalog containing all the available training courses was produced and distributed to all the section managers. Each employee could consult this document and find the desired course. In order to take part in a training session, the employee filled in a paper registration form which had to be approved by his/her direct supervisor and the branch manager before being forwarded to the Training division.

All the administrative information of the registered staff members was input into an Excel file, with no relation to the personal files in the personnel division, and had, therefore, to be reviewed in each registration. The problem for the training manager was getting rid of the huge amount of paper work and enabling the employees to register directly and follow the progress of their requests.

The training manager also wanted the application to integrate the personnel files of salaries, so as not to have to enter the employees' basic data, and get a direct daily access to employees' administrative information. Another requirement was the ability to consult each staff member's training history on the intranet.

To this end, Gétaz Romang has chosen the Training module of Allegro solution.

After short joint study aimed at defining the exact scope of Adequasys' intervention, the solution was very quickly installed and customized (in few weeks), and then immediately implemented. Right from the first year, around 250 training requests have been processed by the system.

Today, a paper catalog, much thinner than the past, is still used to ensure a progressive implementation of Allegro for those employees who do not have work stations. Group stations are progressively being installed in workshops, and the different division managers can advise those workers not used to these novelties.

The Training division has also integrated into Allegro all the employees' previous training records. In fact, they have now acquired different records which they can access quickly. The new training management using Allegro was well received by the staff members who have found it both user-friendly and easy to use.
